M+S Characters- Artemis and Valkyrie

Doing some character design with Dan. It's lotsa fun, but kinda hard because our ideas of good color theory don't always mesh XD which leads to long conversations about whether a color needs to be a touch lighter or darker and lots of squinting at the computer questioning if that actually made any difference at all but I digress.

These are Artemis Rose and Valkyrie, two secondary characters in our collaboration story Moon and Stars. And by collaboration it means I do the scribbles, Dan does the dribbles.

Valkyrie is the daughter of a noble warrior lineage who left her clan behind to assist Princess Luna in the defeat and destruction of the Nightmare; though she may have regrets about leaving her life behind, she never falters in her duty to Luna and her cause. Now she is the Master of the Aerie and one of several trainers there. She's very no-nonsense and doesn't take any sass from her students, but off the practice courts she's a very kind and understanding mare whose foremost goal is the protection of those she cherishes.

Artemis Rose is from a noble family in Canterlot and has all the regal bearing of a unicorn as her family tried to act more like the natives of the capital, but underneath she has the untamable free spirit of a pegasus. She's never openly rebellious of authority, but she always does things her own way. She is someone who cares deeply, but not loudly- she is quietly passionate. She is also extremely polite and well spoken and takes pride in that, yet she's not a cold pony either.

Probably gonna draw and post more characters from this project since both Dan and I are super excited about it.
